Everyone had a great show at La Jolla over the weekend… Carlos and Astro won one of their Training Level classes and had a lot of improvement since the last Woodside show.
Shelley and Caro were also much improved at 3rd Level and won their class.
Intermediare II was contested by Nellie (1st) & Juliet (2nd). Both were above 60% !! a super acheivment for both of them.
Also, Nellie’s student Laura (riding Scooby) earned their final score to win their USDF Bronze Medal!!
Tori to be a mommy….
Villa rosa is pleased to announce that Tori, the Hannoverian mare owned by Jenny Van De Loo, is being leased by VR in order to breed her. If all goes well she will pass-on her conformation, bone and super gaits to her baby. So far she has had her first check from the vets and all looks good.
March 21, Tori was inseminated over the weekend. The sire will be Klickitat (see “Stallions” page for more info.). We will check her in a couple weeks to see if she is pregnant.
April 21, 2010: Hurray she is pregnant and super healthy. Estimated foaling date is March 5, 2011.

VILLA ROSA CHRISTMAS TEA December 20
I think this was the biggest tea party yet. Many, many people attended..and it was super fun. Brad served Chocolate Martinis that were quite a hit. One problem is that I was having so much fun, I forgot to take any pictures at the party. So, we have decided that we really need to have a Villa Rosa Spring Fling this year. The date has yet to be decided but we will get together and party at Villa Rosa soon after the roses come out to bloom. And, I will remember to take pictures.
An exciting highlight to the party was Tia’s make-over…as she stood in the front door of the house the mother and I were thinking “who is this lady?” She looks great! Maybe we will make red hair mandatory for everyone working at Villa Rosa.
Tango Update: As many of you know Shelley Clark adopted a pony gelding in October 2009. When Shelley took Tango home he was quite skinny and having problems eating. You can see Tango’s “Before” picture on the ”Sale Annoucements” page. Soon thereafter the vets discovered that he had a broken jaw…not good. Well, Shelley, being the excellent mommy that she is, had a surgery done on him, nursed him, fed him soup and this what he looks like now! Wow…..he is so cute and sweet. He is very lucky to have found Shelley.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE !!!

Farm favorite “Tony the Pony” found a new family with the Carmody’s in Shingle Springs, CA. It is great to hear that their daughter’s LOVE him and he is quickly becoming a part of their family.
The December 2009 issue of “Dressage Today” magazine has an informative article by Lendon Gray — Better Corners Better Horses — the demonstration horse for this article is our “Rialto” that we sold to Fern Feldman while we were in Florida earlier this year. He looks great! www.dressagetoday.com
