PRE Celebration-Dressage Day

South Point Las Vegas is a great place for a horse show.  It is so nice to be staying the the same hotel with the horses.  We can go down and see the horses anytime.

All the stalls are permanent stabling, climate controlled, no dust, wash racks have hot and cold water.  Nice big restrooms,  free ice machine use, a bar and snack shack..  It also has a really nice vendor area,    Anyhow… we love it.

Both of the stallions were good boys today.  Fugitivio did his first Prix St. George and also had a lot of success in the USDF Sport Horse Show.

FEI High Point

Klickitat wasn’t quite as impressed with the big arena as we are.  For his first test, after warming up really nicely, we went in the arena and he was totally terrified and I couldn’t get him past X.  We got excused by the judge…..bummer.  2nd test we actually got all the way around the arena…whoohooo….he was still scared but did a better job of holding it together.  We ended up winning that Fourth Level-Test 2 class.

Oiserlea/Gavilan Chapter Show, August 2010

Congrats to Brian and Lomardo on thier first Intermediare II,  they won with a 67+%

Nancy, Lauren and Patience also all had good results.

The STORY of “THE DRESS”

We have been looking forward to attending the PRE Celebration Show in Las Vegas.  Upon reviewing the program we saw that they have a class called PRE IDOL

Each entrant gets 4 minutes to do whatever they want with their horse and then they are judged by  a panel of judges and the audience.

Tony and Heidi will be doing a Zorro Theme Pax De Duex, to the music from the movie “Mask of Zorro” with Antonio Baderos and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Well, funny thing happened, the mother mentioned to her freind Krisit Ullman that we are doing this act.  Kristi owns the horse that was in the movie, and guess what….she owns one of the actual dresses from the movie.  So, being the extra cool person that she is, she is lending “THE DRESS” to Heidi  for the show.

The pictures below were taken during a dress rehersal at Villa Rosa.

* Peggy Harder’s Cantabrica & Heidi won all three of  her 2nd Level classes with scores of 66+%.

*  Nellie had a good go in Intermediare I scoring 65+%.

* Kari and Nancy also had good runs in the PSG and Grand Prix.

DRESSAGE IN THE ALMONDS, LODI, CA

Jim and Katharos competed in their first dressage show over the weekend.  Jim wanted to go to a show out of our area so he wouldn’t have to ride in front of his clients and freinds for the first show.  After three weeks of practice we set off to Dressage in the Almonds in Lodi, CA.

When we arrived we found out that the show had been over-subscribed, so Jim’s arena had a new  judge, Vicki Matisi……she is Jim’s client.  Also since we didn’t have time to get Jim an amatuer card he had to ride in the Open division.  That meant he would be riding against Patience……she is Jim’s client.  Also at the show was Maddy & Peat…… Jim’s clients and many other people that know Jim from going to shows with Heidi.

Also, Jim was the only man riding in the show, so this made him a bit of a celebrity for the day.     By this time we realized that our efforts to be incognito were not working.

Jim and Kman did great, scoring 63+ in both classes and earning a 3rd place in one of his classes.

Dressage Derby, Vacaville June 26-27, 2010

It was a super fun show in Vacaville this weekend, with many successes.  The only downer was the 100 degree weather on the last day, but everyone faired well.

Much of this weekend’s success can be attributed to everyone’s practice on Villa Rosa’s new “Dressage Simulators” (see pics at the  bottom of this post).

Juliet & Escorial earned their USDF GOLD MEDAL with scores in the Grand Prix of 65+ & 63+.  This definately called for a celebration!!!
